The three types of automotive battery cable available on the market today include SGR, SGX, and SGT. they are used for the interconnection of battery terminals and the starter/ground in many vehicles. Picking the right battery cable should be determined by the demands of your project and environment. This includes sizing automotive battery cables to the requirements of your electrical system, for too small of a cable will cause excess heat that can create a hazard. The size of the battery cable you use should depend on the amperage you need and the length of the battery cable.
